Today we started Unit 4 in reading. The story is "The Houdini Box." Students learned a bit about Harry Houdini's life. We started adding and subtracting fractions today. We will be working on this for the next couple of days.
I have to be out tomorrow and Wednesday to attend workshops. I have let the children know and also told them they will be rewarded on Friday if they do not get their name taken by the substitute. Please remind your child to be on his/her best behavior for this classroom visitor.

Welcome back to another exciting semester of school. We have many things coming up in the next few months. Please keep watch for notices both here and in your child's folder. Our reading story this week is "The Great Kapok Tree." In English we will be working on irregular verbs. We started working with fractions in math today.
